Nikon D40 6 MP camera

Nikon D40 at the time of introduction (year 2006-2007) was the cheapest offering by Nikon in the DSLR segment. The camera was stripped of many unwanted features to make it lighter and faster and more VFM. The 6 MP sensor performs excellent in low-light and is still a good buy. The Nikon D40 is not in production now, instead we have an equally good Nikon D3100 as the entry level DSLR.

Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (3.0x) Lens

This is the lens I use most of the time. The zoom range is perfect for everyday use and the lens produces sharp images no matter what the condition.

Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D Lens

This should be the cheapest lens from Nikon. It’s a prime lens (fixed zoom) and doesn’t autofocus on the entry level Nikon DSLR’s like Nikon D40, D40X, D3100, D3200, D5100 or D5200, and requires a autofocus motor inside the DSLR camera body (only present in the Nikon professional range of DSLRs). I still use this lens on my Nikon D40 with lots of success and needless to say its excellent in low-light conditions!
